Falconwright S/S '14

Falconwright's new line and lookbook is out! I love these girls and I love their work so i was excited when they asked me to 'model' for them (more like posing awkwardly). New Work: Organic Food Icons

Some (belated) new work... I worked on the re-brand of a chain of Organic Grocery Stores with Dylan Royal. These illustrations were part of the project... they were meant to represent all of the store departments and programs and be to used for a variety of applications like signage, packaging etc. The client wasn't happy with the direction so they will go into the 'rejected' pile, but i'm still very happy with how they turned out.

For the New Year

Happy New Year! I have been thinking a lot about goals and improvements that I should make in the new year and have really enjoyed reading Ashley Neese's series on creating a vision for 2014. I still have some thinking to do but i thought it would help to get a rough list out in the open. I have started a list of more specific TO DO's but here are my goals so far,
for day-to-day:

- Eat simply and slowly.
- Less extra/freelance work for now; use the time to go to bed early, wake up early,
exercise, read more.
- Spend more time with friends & family.
- Drink less alcohol & coffee, more water & tea.
- Start a reward system for spending. (eg. save 1000/spend 100)
- No more phone-checking in bed.
- Choose personal projects to start and finish, limit time spent, give deadlines.
- Check social media only once a day.
- Be mindful of time and savouring moments.
- Choose a hobby/evening class to pursue.
- Make a summer plan, take adv of long weekends.
- Take risks, stop being afraid of failure.
- Be patient and slow down.

Branding for the Drake General Store

Earlier this year I worked on two projects for the Drake General Store – logos and tags
for new private brands Arborist and Held in Common. The products are now out and they are beautiful – super soft sweaters, cute hats and fun socks. A few samples below...

Design Thinkers '13

I spent the last 2 days at RGD's Design Thinkers (an annual design conference in Toronto) with my pal in design crime (harhar) Aprile. Today especially was very good, lots of laughs and good things to think about. The talks i enjoyed most were given by Morag Myerscough, Peter Mendelsund, and Ken & Jenn Visocky O'Grady.

A Fun Summer Wedding Invite

I designed this wedding invitation for my friend Danielle... it was so much fun to work on,
the wedding was super fun too! I haven't photographed the real thing yet, but they were screenprinted by Sandi and so they turned out perfectly.
